Roger Daltry stole the show
Having seen D.L. Hughley 30 times over the years, I was bored and profoundly disappointed. He phoned in a garden variety and uninspired performance, looking tired and lackluster. Roger Daltry opened the show, touring to get his voice in shape for the upcoming Who tour. He, on the other hand, was friendly and enthusiastic; backed by a crack band including Pete Townsend's brother Simon, and in fine voice. The people who don't know better thought they had really seen something. After Daltry's set, I said to my wife, "There... you've seen the Who. I can go home, now." I probably should've. Roger opened with "I Can See For Miles", and mixed into his hour-long set: "Who Are You?", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Going Mobile" and "Baba O'Riley".
